Carl Bean von Musser is the translation department's Head Napping Coordinator. He spent his formative years in New York, where he graduated with honours from The Dog Institute of Brooklyn. After spending his gap year sniffing around the beer gardens of Prague, Czech Republic, Carl moved to London, where he quickly made a name for himself in publishing circles.

At Curtis Brown, Carl can often be found curled up in his office (dog bed), reading his favourite books, which include The Handmaid's Tail by Margaret Atwoof, Mansfield Bark by Jane Pawsten, Notes from the Underhound by Fyodor Dogstoyevsky, and To the Doghouse by Virginia Woof.
