Stella is currently directing 3 episodes of Trigonometry, House Production's new Duncan Macmillan show for BBC One. 

Her standalone Channel 4 drama  Through the Gates is nominated for Best Single Drama at the BAFTA's this year and stars BAFTA award winning Wunmi Mosaku (The End of the F***ing World, Damilola, Kiri, Luther) and Ria Zmitrowicz (Three Girls, Mr Selfridge) and is about Aimee, a troubled young offender who meets Tessa- a disillusioned parole officer in charge of Aimee’s welfare.

Previously Stella was selected by Film London to write and direct her first short film Little Solider which was shot by Robbie Ryan and features Zawe Ashton. For this, Stella was awarded Best Female Director at the London Short Film Festival by the Bechdel Test Fest and received various special mentions including at Cork International Film Festival for Best International Short and Underwire Festival for Best Screenplay.

Stella was mentored by Sally Potter, who she worked with extensively on set. Stella’s short was recently programmed at Curzon in advance of Sally Potter’s The Party, on which Stella worked as director’s assistant. Stella also worked with Justin Kurzel as director’s assistant on Macbeth. She is passionate about working with women and finding untapped, undiscovered talent.
