I began working in the book industry in 1989, as a bookseller, and joined Curtis Brown in 2005 from John Murray at Hodder Headline / Hachette, where I was Publishing Director.
Before that, I had been Publisher of the Pan Macmillan divisions Sidgwick & Jackson, Boxtree and Channel Four Books, where I was lucky enough to be responsible for a number of bestsellers over the course of a decade. I’ve also worked in New York in both the agenting and publishing sides of the business.
My client list embraces non-fiction – from personality-led and personality-driven projects to history and lifestyle, by high profile authors or leading media companies – and a select fiction list featuring intelligent writing with commercial genre awareness.
I am currently a committee member of the Association of Author's Agents, and was shortlisted for Agent of the Year at the Bookseller British Book Industry Awards in both 2012 and 2013.
My profile page features clients with projects appearing in 2013. Follow the Clients tab to the left of the page for a full client list.
My assistant is Richard Pike.
