Anuk Arudpragasam shortlisted for 2021 Booker Prize

A Passage North by Anuk Arudpragasam is shortlisted for the 2021 Booker Prize for Fiction.

A deeply philosophical story told through memories and
Sebaldian musings, A Passage North is the second novel by the award-winning author of The Story of a Brief Marriage.

Published in the US by The Hogarth Press and in the UK by Granta, the richly  immersive novel is an exploration of desire, loss, and the legacy of Sri Lanka’s 30-year civil war. Arudpragasam’s narrative has been praised by Colm Toibin for its ‘way of rendering consciousness and handling time that connects Arudpragasam to the great novelists of the past.’

A Passage North has already sold to Hanser in Germany, La Nave di Teseo in Italy, Dar Athar in Saudi Arabia and EKSMO in Russia.
