Conor McPherson's stage adaptation of Uncle Vanya brought to the screen

Conor McPherson's adaptation of Anton Chekov’s play Uncle Vanya at the Harold Pinter Theatre, that was curtailed by the coronavirus pandemic, will be revitalised as a filmed production by Sonia Friedman Productions & Angelica Films.

Uncle Vanya is a portrayal of life at the turn of the 20th century, full of tumultuous frustration, dark humour and hidden passions. Directed for the screen by Ross MacGibbon, starring Toby Jones, Roger Allam, Aimee Lou Wood, Rosalind Eleazar and Richard Armitage.

Conor McPherson is a writer and director for the stage and screen. He is an Olivier Award winner and was named by The New York Times as "the finest playwright of his generation."
