Oct 17, 2017

Multiple authors from Curtis Brown and Conville + Walsh have made the shortlist for the Books Are My Bag 2017 Reader’s Awards. Both Jane Harper’s The Dry and Matt Haig’s How to Stop Time have been shortlisted for the Popular Fiction Award, while Adam Kay’s This is Going to Hurt is shortlisted for the Non Fiction Award. This is the second year the Books Are My Bag Readers Awards have been given out. The shortlists are composed by bookshops from across the UK, with the nominees then voted on by readers.

The Dry, which follows a murder investigation in a drought raved town in Australia, has previously won Book of the Year at the Australian Book Industry Awards. How to Stop Time, about a man who has been alive for centuries, is a Sunday Times Bestseller and has been optioned by Benedict Cumberbatch's film production company. This is Going to Hurt is Adam Kay’s no-holds-barred account of his time on the NHS front line.
