Fisayo Akinade, Amber Anderson, Jessica Barden and Joseph Quinn have all made it into this year’s Evening Standard Magazine’s Rising Star issue which showcases the next generation of acting talent London has to offer.
Fisayo Akinade starred in E4’s Cucumber, and alongside Gemma Arterton in the Donmar Warehouse’s Saint Joan. He’s just finished a run of the Barber Shop Chronicles at the NT’s Dorfman returning in November after huge success.
Amber Anderson stars as Ciara Porter in JK Rowling’s The Strike Series: Cuckoo’s Calling on BBC1 and features in the London-set thriller In Darkness following later this year.
Jessica Barden featured in Jez Butterworth’s Jerusalem at the Royal Court in 2009 and as a an angst-riddenturn as the eponymous star of the Channel 4 drama, Ellen. Jess will next be seen as the lead in Netflix/ E4’s big dark comedy of the autumn, TEOTFW (The End of the F***ing World).
Joseph Quinn is currently starring in the National Theatre’s sold out production of Mosquitoes opposite Olivia Colman and Olivia Williams. He can next be seen as Leonard Bast in in Kenneth Lonegarn’s adaptation of EM Forster’s classic Howard’s End.
