Fionn O’Shea has been nominated in the Actor in a Leading Role category at the 2018 Irish Film and Television Academy Awards, for his performance in John Butler’s film Handsome Devil.
Currently on Netflix, Handsome Devil is a coming of age story set in a boys boarding school in Dublin. Fionn plays Ned, an awkward outsider who forges an unlikely friendship with new pupil Conor, the star of the school rugby team. Together they navigate the complexities of school life and learn how to be true to themselves.
The awards ceremony will be held in Dublin on 15th February.
In October Fionn was announced as one of the Screen International Stars of Tomorrow for 2017. He has recently filmed a lead in forthcoming C4 comedy series Hang Ups and also features in James Kent’s forthcoming film The Aftermath, with Keira Knightley and Alexander Skarsgard.
