Laura Ruby earns shortlisting for the National Book Awards 2019

We are delighted to announce that Thirteen Doorways, Wolves Behind Them All, by Laura Ruby has been short-listed for the 2019 National Book Awards in the Young People’s Literature category. Presented by The New Yorker, the prize will be judged by a mix of bestselling authors, booksellers, academics, librarians and previous finalists and winners of the prize.

This is Laura Ruby’s eighth novel, which follows the story of two sisters after their mother dies and their father abandons them in an orphanage. Melissa Albert, bestselling author of The Hazel Wood, called it ‘a numerous tale of love and restlessness and dark histories that rises like a tide till you’re up to your neck in its magic.
