Nicole Taylor & Tom George win at the 2018 Royal Television Society Awards

The winners of the 2018 RTS awards were announced on Tuesday 20th March.

This Country, both seasons of which have been directed by Tom George, won three awards: Best Scripted Comedy, Best Comedy Writer and Best Comedy Performance. This Country has also just been nominated for two BAFTA Craft Awards: Breakthrough Talent and Writer: Comedy.

Nicole Taylor was awarded Best Drama Writer and Best Mini Series for her series Three Girls, about the Rochdale sex abuse scandal. She has also just received a nomination for a BAFTA Craft Award in the Writer: Drama category for this mini-series. 

Tom George’s previous credits include Hank Zipzer (International Emmy nominee) and Limbo for Hat Trick Productions and BBC. His short film, an understated black-comedy, Mickey & Michaela Bury Their Dad won the 2014 LOCO London Comedy Film Festival award for Best Short.

Prior to Three Girls, Nicole Taylor’s multi-BAFTA nominated single drama The C Word, was produced for BBC1 and starred Sheridan Smith. Her upcoming feature Country Music is produced by Faye Ward, with backing from BFI, Creative Scotland and Film Four.
