The Handmaid's Tale wins top Emmy Awards

The Hulu adaptation of Margaret Atwood's modern classic The Handmaid's Tale took home eight awards during last night's 69th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Elisabeth Moss. Atwood, who joined the show’s cast and crew on stage to accept the award for Outstanding Drama, received a standing ovation from the audience. 

Hailed “the spring's best new show and certainly its most important” by The Hollywood Reporter, the series has received international critical acclaim. The full list of wins for the series includes: Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Elisabeth Moss, Outstanding Supporting Actress for Ann Dowd, Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for Reed Morano, Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series for Bruce Miller, Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for Alexis Bledel. Outstanding Cinematography for a Single Camera Series for Colin Watkinson, and Outstanding Art Direction For A Contemporary Or Fantasy Series Single Camera for Julie Berghoff, Evan Webber and Sophie Neudorfer.
