Curtis Brown Creative is inviting applications for the 15 places on its Autumn 2017 online course.
The deadline to submit work is at midnight on Sunday 2 July – and applicants are asked to send in the 3,000-word opening to a novel-in-progress, plus a synopsis. Those who wish to be considered are also required to fill in a short application form.
The Six-Month Novel-Writing Course (11 September 2017 to 26 February 2018), taught by award-winning author Lisa O’Donnell, brings all the ingredients of the school’s London-based course to those who prefer to study more flexibly from home. As well as intensive workshops and one-to-one tutorials, it includes expert video teaching from Lisa – as well as from novelists Jake Arnott (above), Anna Davis, Suzannah Dunn, Erin Kelly, Nikita Lalwani and Christopher Wakling – and dedicated online attention from our literary agents.
At the end of the course, students are invited to submit their 3,000-word openings and synopses to be read by the Curtis Brown and C+W literary-agent teams.
Curtis Brown Creative has seen 32 of its former students – several of whom studied on its online courses – go on to secure major publishing deals. The writing school finds talented authors through a selective application process and helps them to get the best out of their novels-in-progress.
