Translation Rights Manager  (Book Department)

We are looking for an experienced, confident and highly motivated Rights Manager to work in the Translation Rights Team at Curtis Brown.

Our ideal candidate will have significant experience of working in a rights department either at a publishing house or an agency, and experience of working in children’s translation rights would be an advantage. They should also have experience of negotiating deals and drafting contracts, enjoy working in a team and be able to handle a high volume of work. Knowledge of a foreign language is helpful but not necessary.

This role involves negotiating deals in the following territories: Arabic speaking countries, Croatia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Poland, Russia, Turkey and smaller territories in the Far East, as well as representing our children’s list across all territories.

This role gives an ideal opportunity for someone with existing experience in selling translation rights to develop in an exciting and dynamic role, build excellent knowledge and contacts within the industry and work with an internationally renowned stable of authors across the Curtis Brown list.

Theatre, Film & TV Department - Assistant to senior agent

We are looking for an assistant to join our TFTV Department and support the office of a busy senior agent. 

An assistant's role is to help ensure the smooth running of the agent’s office through effective organisation and exceptional client care.The role will suit someone with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; exceptional organisation skills; a keen eye for detail and accuracy; and the ability to prioritise, multitask and work under pressure with interruptions.

The successful candidate will be proactive, confident and show initiative. They will be a team player who is willing to share information, ideas and any industry contacts they have and continue to make. They will have a good knowledge of and demonstrable passion for the broader film, TV and theatre landscape.

Promotion of the clients’ work, seeking out new opportunities for them both here in the UK and internationally, and safeguarding their interests is at the heart of what an agent does, so the successful candidate will need to quickly gain a comprehensive knowledge of each client's work.

Please note that this is not an entry level job and we are looking for someone with relevant prior experience of working as an assistant preferably in the media industry within an agency or production company.
