Fane Productions Ltd (http://www.faneproductions.com) is looking for two people to join their busy team.  Fane Productions share offices with Curtis Brown on Haymarket next to Piccadilly Circus.

The company has two principal areas of business:

  • Representing artists from multiple disciplines for their live work in London, and on tour nationally and internationally, including the likes of John le Carré, Margaret Atwood, Grayson Perry, Gareth Malone and Sir Michael Parkinson.
  • Programming Crazy Coqs, an 80-seat cabaret venue within the Brasserie Zédel complex in Piccadilly. The programme itself is billed as Live at Zédel and puts on over 800 shows a year and Crazy Coqs is one of London’s most unique performance spaces and a creative hub in the heart of Soho.

Position one: ARTISTIC PROGRAMMER

We're looking for an experienced, creative and proactive individual to join our expanding and vibrant team as Artistic Programmer. This role has two principal focuses:

1) To coordinate, develop and action a programming plan for Live at Zédel​

2) To programme content at other venues and festivals through Fane Productions' relationships

Job Specification :Reporting directly to Alex Fane, CEO of Fane Productions, and James Albrecht, Head of Venues, this is a full-time, permanent position with a three-month probationary period.

The programme at Zédel includes everything from jazz, to comedy, cabaret, music theatre, theatre, spoken word, even classical music and everything in between. The desired candidate will have experience and/or interest across multiple art forms to help plan and implement a diverse and high-quality programme in line with the artistic vision.

Working hours are 9.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, but there will be an expectation to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.

Salary expectations for this role are £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience.

Position two: ASSISTANT TO ALEX FANE

 We're searching for someone bright and energetic - also organised and hard-working to support Alex in his busy role as MD. You must have previous office experience and this job requires first-rate time and diary management skills. It would be useful if you've got some experience of working or interning in an arts organisation - perhaps a theatre, production company or an advertising agency.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a great phone manner as they'll be speaking to clients and industry professionals regularly. They will be happy to work in a team, be calm under pressure and able to use their initiative. The ability to use tact and discretion are also an important part of this job.

Working hours are 9:30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, but there may be a requirement to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.

TRANSLATION RIGHTS EXECUTIVE (BOOK DEPARTMENT) 

We are looking for an energetic, creative and highly motivated Rights Executive to work in the Translation Rights Department. This role will be to support one of our Translation Rights Agents and handle deals in our co-agented Eastern European territories in addition to general administrative tasks for the department.

The ideal candidate - what we’re looking for

You will be highly organised, enjoy working in an ambitious team and will feel confident handling a high volume of work, including contractual details and administrative details. Our ideal candidate will have keen interest in book publishing and the foreign markets, an understanding of digital and social media, and a sharp eye for detail. Knowledge of a foreign language is helpful but not necessary.

This role gives an ideal opportunity for an assistant to use their excellent administrative skills to discover more about international publishing, build excellent knowledge and contacts within the industry and work with an incredible stable of authors across the Curtis Brown and ICM lists.

RIGHTS ASSISTANT, TRANSLATION RIGHTS DEPARTMENT AT C+W AGENCY


C+W Agency (http://cwagency.co.uk ) are looking for an energetic, creative and highly motivated assistant to work in their Translation Rights department. This role supports three Translation Rights Agents in addition to general administrative tasks for the department.
 
The  ideal candidate - what we’re looking for

Our ideal candidate will enjoy reading a wide variety of literature and have a keen interest in book publishing and the international publishing market. You may already be working or interning at a publishing house or literary agency. You will have excellent communications skills, be highly organised and enjoy working in an ambitious team. We need someone who feels confident handling a high volume of work, including contractual details. We expect you to have a sharp eye for detail. You should understand digital and social media, and it would be useful if you have experience of writing copy as this role involves writing copy for our website. As part of a lively department, you will be expected to use your skills to help facilitate colleagues’ projects; to roll up your sleeves and pitch in. Knowledge of a foreign language is helpful but not necessary.

This role gives an ideal opportunity for an assistant to use their excellent administrative skills to discover more about international publishing, build excellent knowledge and contacts within the industry and work with an incredible stable of authors across the C+W list and those of the other agencies with whom C+W works.
