Played the lead role in Ken Loach’s film I, Daniel Blake (Palme d’Or winner), winning Best Actor award at the British Independent Film Awards and Best Newcomer at the EMPIRE Awards.

Dave is a multi-award-winning film actor, accomplished stage actor and respected stand-up comic. He is perhaps best known for playing the lead role in Ken Loach's feature film I, Daniel Blake for which he won the 2016 BIFA for Best Actor. He also won Best Actor at the Dublin Film Critics Circle and Best Newcomer at the EMPIRE Awards. Other nominations included Best Actor at the 2016 European Film Awards, Evening Standard British Film Awards, Critics' Circle Awards 2017. I, Daniel Blake won the 2016 Palme d'Or at Cannes Film Festival and also the award for Outstanding British Film at the 2017 BAFTAs.

Other notable credits include Fisherman's Friends, Fisherman's Friends 2, 23 Walks, Walk Like a Panther, The Keeper and Two Graves. Dave’s television credits include The Larkins (ITV) and No Offence (Channel 4). He has also appeared on The Chase: Celebrity Special, The Nightly Show, Sunday Brunch, Pointless Celebrities, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, 8 Out of 10 Cats & Never Mind the Buzzcocks. 

Stage credits include Shawshank Redemption (Stand Edinburgh) and One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest (Garrick Theatre).
