Novelist and judge

Henry Cecil was the pen name of Judge Henry Cecil Leon, who also wrote under the pseudonym Clifford Maxwell.

His career as a judge inspired much of Cecil's work. He wrote numerous short stories, books and plays, as well as radio and television adaptations of his work. His 1955 novel, Brothers in Law, was made into a film in 1957 and, later, a television and radio series starring Richard Briers.
