India Sturgis thought she might become an architect before happily falling into journalism via City University and a Masters in Magazine Journalism. She worked briefly at the Times before starting a job at the Daily Mail as a feature writer and commissioning editor. Four years on, she left to pursue freelance journalism, but was lured back to a newsroom in 2015 by the Daily Telegraph to be a features writer once more.
She has covered events such as the Westminster Bridge terror attack in 2017 and the London Olympics, has dived off Bermuda in a $2.2 million submersible, lived with nuns and worked undercover at a hairdresser’s. High profile interviews include Louis Theroux, Harvey Weinstein and Giles and Mary from Gogglebox. Now India has returned to freelance work, has a young daughter and lives in West London.
