Williams
Karla Williams is an award-winning writer and producer. Her short film PRETTY BITCH has been screened at festivals internationally, including London Short Film Festival, BFI Future Film Festival and Underwire Festival. PRETTY BITCH also won the Best Screenplay Award at the Van d’Or Awards and was nominated in several Best Film categories.
Karla’s theatre work includes plays at Soho Theatre, KILN Theatre, St James Theatre and Arcola Theatre and she is a graduate of the Royal Court Critical Mass Writers Programme. She was commission by Tamasha Theatre and Paines Plough to write a piece for their project COME TO WHERE I’M FROM and her full-length play BUT I DON’T LIKE GIRLS was longlisted for the Alfred Fagon Award and the Brutwood Prize. She has written two monologues for the anthology HEAR ME NOW: AUDITION MONOLUGES FOR ACTORS OF COLOUR published by Oberon.
Karla's comedy series GAME CHANGER was longlisted for the Zeppotron Make a Scene Bursary, and she is currently developing two drama projects: FALL FROM GRACE and GODBOX. Karla is also the co-founder and executive producer for MsMono Productions, an award-winning, female-focused production company.
