Nora Ephron was a New York Times bestselling author. She has also received Academy Award nominations for Best Original Screenplay for When Harry Met Sally, Silkwood, Sleepless in Seattle, and Julie & Julia. The latter two films she also directed. She was married to the writer Nicholas Pileggi.
