Rachel Darwin graduated with a distinction from Goldsmiths University’s MA in Creative and Life Writing. She won the Bath Children's Novel Award in 2022
Rachel Darwin (née Bettesworth) grew up in the Wiltshire and Somerset countryside before moving to Bath to study performing arts at college. At eighteen, she moved to London, where she became a professional singer, performing for ten years. Since 2017, Rachel has been a contemporary singing teacher, specialising in working with children and teens aged 11-18. She has a master’s degree in Creative and Life Writing from Goldsmith’s University.
Rachel’s middle grade family fairy tale, The Doll’s House Mouse, won the Bath Children’s Novel Award 2021.
Rachel lives with her husband in southwest London, where she writes, reads, sings, enjoys gluten free cooking and baking, and makes friends with dogs on her walks by the river.
