Writer for theatre, television and radio.
Richard is a playwright, screenwriter, lyricist, poet and occasional actor.
For TV, Richard is currently developing a sci-fi drama with Slam Films and family comedy Mountain Time with Fee-Fi-Fo Films. He’s also writing romantic dramedy OK, Zoomer with Jon Brittain for NBC Universal.
For theatre, he’s writing the book and co-writing lyrics for a musical adaptation of classic British indie movie Son of Rambow (with Miranda Cooper and Nick Coler of Girls Aloud fame). A song from the show was runner-up for the 2020 Stiles & Drewe Best New Song Prize.
Richard's one-man play Skittles was commissioned for Radio 4 as Love & Sweets, and won Best Scripted Comedy in the BBC Audio Drama Awards.
Dirty Great Love Story (co-written and co-performed with Katie Bonna) won a Fringe First (for outstanding new writing) at the Edinburgh Fringe, before transferring to New York followed by the West End.
Edinburgh hit Wingman was picked up by Big Talk Productions for UK TV then developed by CBS Studios for US TV. It has yet to be on actual TV.
He wrote the Radio 4 poetry comedy series Cardboard Heart, starring Phil Daniels, Olivia Poulet, Jemima Rooper, Rebecca Scroggs, Russell Tovey, Sam Troughton and Richard.
