Selina is a BAFTA and BIFA nominated screenwriter. Her first film, Painkiller (2011, BBC Writersroom, B3 Media; starring Benedict Wong and Franz Drameh), screened at Encounters, Rushes, the London Short Film Festival, and London Comedy Film Festival - where it was nominated for the Discovery Award.
Selina’s next film, 28-minute black comedy Keeping up with the Joneses, starred Maxine Peake and Adeel Akhtar. It was nominated for a BAFTA and a BIFA for Best British Short Film in 2014. It won the Best Thriller Short Award at the London Short Film Festival 2014 and Best Thriller at the Aesthetica Film Festival 2014.
Selina's next projects were 15-minute short film Playing Ball which was commissioned by BBC Drama as part of the Original Drama Shorts 2015 from BBC iPlayer, and the episode 'Janine' starring Ruth Madeley for BBC Studios/Green Door’s ‘Five By Five’. This was a series of short films executive produced by and starring Idris Elba.
More recently, Selina has written episodes for season three of Sex Education (Eleven / Netflix) and season three of Hanna (NBC / Amazon Prime). Selina will be writing another episode of Sex Education for its fourth season, and has an original series in development with Sarah Brocklehurst Productions.
Selina has been named on the BBC's New Talent Hotlist, in which "creative leaders from across the BBC have identified over 200 broadcasting stars of the future".
