American non-fiction writer and journalist
Tony Hiss, who was a staff writer at The New Yorker for more than 30 years, has lectured around the world and is currently a visiting scholar at New York University's Wagner School of Public Service He is the author of twelve previous books including the award-winning The Experience of Place, and The View from Alger’s Window.

He lives in New York with his wife, writer Lois Metzger, and their son.
