Yasmina Hatem was born in Beirut in 1985, during the Lebanese civil war. After graduating with a Masters from Columbia University as a Fulbright Scholar, she worked as a journalist between New York and Lebanon, covering news and writing about people, for both television and print. Yasmina eventually settled on being an independent writer, choosing to follow stories she feels the need to tell. She wrote her first novel when she was 13-years-old and almost twenty years later, she began another.
She now writes and lives in the South of Spain, with her husband and their mixed-breed rescue dog, Sasha.
