Edinburgh TV Awards 2022 shortlist announced

The Edinburgh TV Awards 2022 Shortlist has been announced.

Amongst the nominees for Best Comedy Series is Sex Education; The series was lead directed and executive produced by Ben Taylor with episodes written by Sophie GoodhartTemi Wilkey and Selina Lim respectively. Lauren Evans served as Casting Director.

Motherland, co-created and co-written by Helen Serafinowicz, and Outlaws, with an episode written by Emma Jane Unsworth, are also nominated in the Best Comedy Series category.

Succession has been nominated for Best International Drama; Tony Roche, Georgia Pritchett, and Jon Brown each served as Writers and Executive Producers on the series. Susan Soon He Stanton was a Writer and Co-Producer and Jamie Carragher was Staff Writer.

Vigil was also nominated for Best International Drama with Isabelle Sieb directing three episodes of the series.

This is Going to Hurt created, written and adapted by Adam Kay from his memoir, and executive produced by James Kay has received a nomination for Best Drama Series. 

Also nominated in this category is Landscapers, created and written by Ed Sinclair, and The Responder, lead directed by Tim Mielants. Additionally, Beverley Keogh served as the Casting Director for Time, which is also nominated for Best Drama Series.

Esther Smith is nominated for Best TV Actor – Comedy for her performance in Trying.

Starring Paul WhitehouseMortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Christmas Fishing is nominated for Best Popular Factual Series.

The awards ceremony will be held at Edinburgh TV Festival on Thursday 25th August.
