Jonathan Lloyd is Literary Agent of the Year

Jonathan Lloyd has been voted Literary Agent of the Year at the 2009 Book Industry Awards, also known as The Nibbies.

Jonathan, CEO of Curtis Brown, represents among others Jeffrey Archer, Marian Keyes, Sue Townsend, Antonia Fraser and most recently, award winning production company Atlantic Productions, which documented the ground-breaking discovery of Ida, the 47-million-year-old primate fossil.

The award, sponsored by Orion Books, recognises the achievements of an agent who has continually matched the author with the right publisher and who has displayed a "remarkable mix of skills and sensibilities".

Jonathan beat five other literary agents to win this prestigious award. The judges said Jonathan had achieved "great deals not just for established authors but new ones too" and that he had sustained "demonstrably good relationships with publishers".
