Marian Keyes wins at Irish Book Awards

Marian Keyes' latest novel This Charming Man (Penguin 2009) won the Easons Irish Popular Fiction Book of the Year Award at the 2009 Irish Book Awards on 6 May.

All the winners were announced at a gala dinner in the Mansion House in Dublin. The ceremony, hosted by Miriam O'Callaghan, saw a host of national and international authors come together to celebrate the best of Irish literature published in the last year.

This is the fourth year of the Irish Book Awards. The shortlist emerged from a ballot of over 300 Irish booksellers and librarians. The winners were chosen by votes from the public and the Irish Literary Academy.
