Special literary performance by Margaret Atwood

Margaret Atwood, the Booker Prize-winning Canadian author, will be appearing in September at a unique literary performance with music to launch her new novel, The Year of the Flood.

The event will be held at St James's Church, 197 Piccadilly, London on Wednesday 2nd September and Thursday 3rd September 2009 at 7.30pm (doors 7.00pm). Tickets are available through Ticket Web.

An apocalyptic vision and a new beginning, The Year of the Flood shows a world where systems of religion and science have been pushed to extremes. A group of survivors build a new life based on their faith, devoted to the melding of science and religion, the preservation of all species and the tending of the Earth.

The UK book tour is also fundraising for the RSPB and Birdlife International. Atwood is the Joint Honorary President of the BirdLife Rare Bird Club.
